LOG week 6

This week i still worked on finishing up the Bauplatform information.  I ran into a little snag about how the pictures I used might have not been for public use and if they were then I didn't cite the author.  So the first thing I had to do this week was double check where I got them from and then talk to Claudia about whether or not we were going to be able to use them.  It was all news to me about the copyright for the pictures.  I was under the impression that if it you were able to copy the picture and paste it somewhere else then it was available to the public, because if websites don't want you to use their pictures they make it so you can't copy them at all.  So I gues I learned something I didn't know before.  And good thing to obecause companies will look to sue you if they catch you using their picture without permission.

I also was assigned to look into competition for factline, specifically other companies that target construction companies platforms.  It took a lot of hard work and several hours of searching online for competition.  Mainly because when you search online only companies form the US pop up for the industry that factline is in.  They are really big name companies too and they are nearly ten times(or more) the size of factline along with being internationally recognized firms.

I also worked on translating the new references that Claudia had put up.  I actually am getting a lot faster at translating the texts now because I am more comfortable with the system and know more vocabulary words than I used to.  There are some things that get confusing such as today when Claudia explained what I will be working on next time.  She told me it would do with creating a single fact for every reference that we put up and making them into different colors if they pertain to a certain designated market.  That all made sense to me except that she said we were going to put it on a template.  I thought that they were already on a template and didn't need to be changed anymore than we already had.
