Introductionary lecture for the students of communication science, supported by FCS - virtual support and communication of 41 student groups.
In the course of the studying plan reforms the students of the first semester have to contribute actively in the tutorial. 41 tutors (students from the upper semesters) instruct groups of approximately 30 beginners each. Organizing occasional live meetings and house works for such large quantities of people is very effort consuming. To support them, there is a FCS platform at every tutors disposal. Instead of sending mass emails, the tutors can directly inform and instruct their students. This way the discussion can be followed in the same manner for all groups of colleagues.
The biggest approval of the students receives the factchat. Each group of students has its own private chat. Parallel to the group chats, general chat discussions for all students are carried out. Different presentation methods are also tested. The behavior in these virtual discussion sessions is thereafter analyzed and evaluated by a separate seminar group.
