Since June 2004, the factline Community Server has been used as a platform for
project communication as well as an information platform for Poseidon.
The project:
The platform serves as a website and is needed for international communication between the project team members ( project communication platform) as well as for presenting results. The platform is a model example for distributed knowledge.
The initial situation: The EU-project POSEIDON (Partnership On Socio-Economic and Integrated Development Of Deprived
Neighbourhoods) deals with the analysis and improvement of
social and economic structures in disadvantaged districts. Vienna is in
charge of the leading part of this Interreg IIIc ("Inter-regional co-operation in the field of urban development") project. The Vienna
Center for Urban Knowledge Management or in German "Wissenschaftszentrum Wien" (WZW) is responsible for the international process coordination. As a result, the WZW ordered a
project platform at factline Webservices GmbH.
The objective: The goal is to guarantee the transparency and
efficiency of the collaboration of the six partner cities (Vienna,
Genoa, Stuttgart, Stockholm, North Kent, and London-Haringey) on the
platform.
